Creative Designer ... Stella Mazza

While growing up in Winnipeg, Stella Mazza was always creating and using her imagination to design items that were never common or familiar. Her desire to artistically craft continued throughout owning and operating Stella's Bridal Salon for 18 years. During her earlier business days, she would design exclusive Swarovski tiaras that were non traditional in style, and somewhat fashion forward for the time. Her customers, as well as various Bridal stores throughout North America, purchased these exclusive headdresses and cherished them as heirlooms. Most customers were never charged as this gave Stella optimum motive to run with her creative energy.

Years would pass, and eventually Stella’s love for Swarovski creations was forced aside due to increasing business demands, her desire to raising a family, and a boundless schedule of responsibilities.

Upon the selling of Stella's Bridal in 2002, her initial plans were to observe her potentials and desires, and determine where her path in designing would take her. Not long thereafter, at the age of 40, Stella was diagnosed with breast cancer, and a challenging year lay ahead. It was at this time Stella rediscovered her love for designing with Swarovski elements, and decided this was a passion she would never abandon again. During her chemotherapy, Stella experienced immense healing by expressing her creativity, and set out to design ten dazzling evening purses. These were comprised of an embellishment of wire, crystals and beads, individually created by hand. "Every design starts from an imagination and desire to craft something incredible" she states. It is here where she creates distinctive designs capturing her individuality in the process. She decided that each handbag would be donated to various charity functions and her plans of taking her collection to market would be determined at a later date.

Not long after, drawing experience from her earlier bridal days, Stella continued her pursuit of crafting extraordinary items, and developed Swarovski crystal bridal bouquets. She incorporated a variety of wiring techniques embellished with an assortment of Swarovski crystals in a multitude of colors. Later she discovered the beauty of French Beaded flowers and was astounded at the exquisiteness of these flowers when created in Swarovski. To date this is her favorite beading technique.

Now, more than 7 years after having hung up her veil as past owner of Stella's Bridal Galleria, she is back on the Winnipeg wedding scene with a new offering as unique as it is brilliant.
Currently Stella is feverishly designing an astounding jewelery collection that will delight the palate of the modern contemporary woman who adores timeless elegance.

Today Stella is cancer free and describes herself as Cancer Thriver. She enjoys life at its fullest everyday with her husband Mick of 26 years and 3 beautiful children Katrina (23) ; Tony (19) ; and Giovanna (7) whom she credits all as her inspiration to create.

My greatest wish
for the two of you
is that through the years
your love for each other
will so deepen and grow,
that years from now
you will look back
on this day,
your wedding day,
as the day you
loved each other
the least
